Ms. Shonda Harris
My journey in education is deeply rooted in this community. I am a proud product of St. Charles Parish Public Schools (SCPPS) and a 1997 graduate of Hahnville High School. Being able to give back to the school system that shaped me is one of my greatest joys.
A Career Dedicated to SCPPS Students
My professional journey in St. Charles Parish began 25 years ago in August 2001 at Norco 4-6 Elementary, where I spent two years teaching 5th-grade math, science, and social studies. I then transitioned to teaching those same subjects to 6th graders for the next four years, cementing my passion for student growth and core academics.
In 2007, I stepped into school leadership as the Administrative Assistant at Allemands Elementary. In January 2011, my journey took me to R. K. Smith Middle School, where I proudly served as Assistant Principal, helping guide students through their crucial middle school years.
A Decade of Dragon Excellence
On July 1, 2017, I stepped into the role that has truly captured my heart: Principal of St. Rose Elementary. This school year marks an incredible milestone as I enter my 10th year as Principal of SRE! I am so excited to continue this incredible journey with our community. Together, we are not just teaching—we are actively building our future leaders."
