MISSION & PHILOSOPHY

The mission of St. Rose Elementary is to empower students to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners in order to make a positive impact on society.

St. Rose Elementary School, originally built in the 1970s, moved to its current state-of-the-art facility in 2003. Our school offers an education for all students, providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential by participating in numerous academic programs and the arts.

SCPPS Launches Full Implementation of 7 Mindsets and Celebrates Student Success

St. Charles Parish Public Schools is continuing its partnership with 7 Mindsets as the program enters its first year of full district implementation during the 2026-2027 school year. In addition to supporting social-emotional learning in schools, the partnership is creating unique opportunities for students to participate in leadership and empowerment experiences beyond the classroom.

Leigh Gaubert

“Guided growth with love, grace, and confidence"

Leigh Gaubert teaches first grade at St. Rose Elementary School and has 10 years of experience, guiding students across all subject areas. Her lifelong interest in working with children led her to education, where she focuses on creating a positive and supportive environment for her students.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Akshay Parasuraman

“My parents’ hard work continuously inspires me and motivates me to do my best. I want to be successful in life, so I work hard with determination.”

Akshay Parasuraman, a fifth grader at St. Rose Elementary School, is involved in the Talented Art program and is a member of the Parish Honor Choir. Outside of school, he serves as a class leader in the International Tamil Academy Language program. He enjoys helping others through charitable work that supports individuals and families in need and has a strong love for animals.

St. Rose Elementary School is honored to partner with IMTT in support of the education of our students.

Robert Nemeth of IMTT, accompanied by Shannon Naquin and Melanie Landry, presents a $25,000 check to Principal Shonda Honor-Harris. These funds are used to support various school projects throughout the year.
